Public Service Announcement
October 1-5 is Fire Prevention Week
The Crested Butte Fire Protection District would like to remind the citizens of our Fire District that October 1-5 is Fire Prevention Week. The theme this year is “Have Two Ways Out”. When you hear the smoke alarm, get outside and stay outside!

Leave immediately

Go straight to your outside meeting place
-
Never go back inside for any reason

Once you’re safely outside, call 9-1-1 from a neighbor’s phone or your cell phone

Practice your family’s escape plan twice a year
Now is a good time to test your smoke and carbon dioxide detectors. Test your detectors by pressing the test button. We also recommend that you replace the batteries in all your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors at the same time you change your clocks to and from Daylight Savings Time.
