Frozen River Film Festival
Add to your calendar
Date: February 15, 2:00 pm
Continues Until:
Location: Mary Stigall Theater, Lake City, Colorado
Details: Four film programs to get your blood pumping as the mercury plummets!

Running February 15-17 in Lake City's Mary Stigall Theater, the Frozen River Film Festival is a celebration of our natural resources through exhilarating, innovative storytelling.

Our program kicks off on Friday at 7 p.m. with a double-feature: "Flow State," Warren Miller Entertainment's wilderness lover's nod to Valentine's Day, and "Call of the River," which illuminates the history of whitewater boating via vintage footage.

Saturday afternoon brings our Shorts for Adults program, featuring energetic angling flicks from Felt Soul Media and "Watershed," an innovative documentary about the Colorado River narrated by Robert Redford. The evening feature program presents "Chasing Ice," which follows a National Geographic photographer on what Roger Ebert calls a "heart-stopping" quest for evidence of climate change.

Our Sunday Shorts for Shorties program weaves together conservation, friendship, and art, culminating in the BAFTA award-winning animation "Lost and Found," in which a boy discovers a lost penguin on his doorstep.

The concession stand will sell popcorn and drinks for all ages, including the Gunnison Brewery's premier water conservation ale, the Frozen River Belgian! All proceeds of the festival will support the Lake Fork Valley Conservancy and Town of Lake City's joint Henson Creek and Lake Fork River Enhancement Project.

A
dults $8 per program. Kids $5 per program. Weekend passes available. Tickets available online or at the door. Visit www.lfvc.org for more information, or find the event on the Lake Fork Valley Conservancy's Facebook page.
