help get the school garden growing

Add to your calendar
Date: May 18, 9:00 am
Continues Until:
Location: Crested Butte Community School Garden
Details: Community "DIG IN!"  Day  -  Volunteers of all ages needed to Help the Living Classroom Get Growing!

The high school student leaders of the Living Classroom invite you to help them "Dig In" to spring as they prepare the school garden for the 2013 growing season. The Spring "Dig In!" Day will be Saturday, May 18, from 9 to noon at the Crested Butte Community School garden, on the south side of the school building.  The garden is designed, run, and maintained by CBCS high school students under the guidance of Janae Pritchett and the Mountain Roots Food Project.  It takes many hands - Individuals, groups, families, and friends are all welcome, and the students need as much help as they can get.  Bring rakes, shovels, and gardening hand tools if you have them. Wear rubber boots or sturdy shoes, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and bring a water bottle.   Some tools will be provided. No experience necessary - we share what we know and we learn as we grow. Please call Janae Pritchett at 349-6732  with workday questions. The Living Classroom is a project of Mountain Roots Food Project; please visit www.mountainrootsfoodproject.org for more information.
