KBUT’s Community Matters airs live every other Monday. The show is hosted by KBUT News Director Christopher Biddle, and veteran Gunnison County journalist Chris Rourke.

In part one, our regular guests from the Crested Butte Avalanche Center – Ian Havlick and Zach Guy. They give us an update on the snowpack, which is unstable to say the least. They also talk about several recent high profile avalanche deaths across the US.

In part two, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has gone from fringe gun rights activist to become Colorado’s newest Representative to the US House. She’s garnered national attention along the way, and stirred controversy for her staunch defense of President Trump and accusations that she participated in the January 6th siege

We speak with data journalist Sandra Fish, who follows campaign finance; and Stina Sieg , Western Slope Reporter for CPR, about Boebert’s evolution as political candidate.
