KBUT Community Radio is excited to announce the expansion of its News Department. Home-grown journalist Kate Gienapp will join our team as a Morning Edition Host and Reporter.
“I’ve been listening to KBUT since I was a kid, and I couldn’t be more excited to join their mission,” says Gienapp.
Gienapp brings her years of local reporting experience to the growing community newsroom. She grew up in Gunnison and got her English degrees at Fort Lewis College in Durango. She covered local news as a staff writer for the Gunnison Country Times for six years.
“There’s no shortage of important stories happening here in the Gunnison Valley,” says KBUT News Director Christopher Biddle, “and Kate’s the perfect person to help us expand our local reporting efforts.”
Gienapp will host Morning Edition three days a week. She’ll also contribute to KBUT’s Daily Newscast and public affairs program Community Matters.
KBUT Community Radio is listener-supported, volunteer-powered community radio for the Gunnison Valley. Their programming features an eclectic blend of music, national news from NPR and others; and a growing local newsroom that offers daily coverage of Gunnison County and Colorado.
