It’s an old conversation, which, like many things, has reached a new height in the era of COVID-19. More and more people are coming to the Gunnison Valley to camp, hike, bike, fish, ride off-road vehicles, and to just be outside. Listen to a conversation with public lands managers on KBUT’s Community Matters. Our guests will be Kevin Alexander, chair of the Sustainable Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Committee; and Matt McCombs, the US Forest Service Gunnison District head Ranger.

Cattlemen’s Days claims to be the oldest running rodeo in America, and President Kevin Koblentz said from the beginning that they weren’t about to let a little old pandemic stop that streak. Unlike some rodeos in Colorado, Cattlemen’s Days has gotten praise for working to abide by public health orders, and if all goes well, events will be held without an audience over Labor day weekend. Kevin Koblentz joins Community Matters to discuss what it’s taken to get there.
