Pam Williams and Deb Calihan have an update on their efforts to preserve and restore the Hartman Castle in Gunnison, and yes, it’s good news! Alonzo Hartman is credited as a founder of Gunnison and as an innovator in what was then the fledgling practice of ranching in the high country. His wife Annie was no less influential, a well-educated, progressive, and influential woman in her day. This power couple built a unique and lovely home, a bona fide historic structure unlike any other in our valley.
