Chris Dickey has been telling stories in the Gunnison Valley for more than a quarter century, but this one’s a bit more personal. His family has owned the Juniper Family Ranch Dining Room south of Colorado Springs for 75 years. That story on its own may seem to have it all, with tales of family, tragedy, hard work, bad breaks, can-do spirit, and a little serendipity, but it goes beyond that as an allegory of Colorado and US history, much richer than you might imagine.
