KBUT Radio holds contests throughout the year. Each contest is a random drawing to win a prize either donated or purchased by KBUT. Each valid entry will be eligible for a random drawing to win “the prize”.
1. How to Enter a Contest
a. You can submit your entry at any time during the duration of the contest. All entries must be received by KBUT no later than 11:59 p.m. the day prior to the date of the drawing. All times are Mountain.
b. To participate in the contest, use any one of the following methods, but all entries must include your first and last name, address, phone number, email address, and all other requested information on the Contest page:
- Donate to KBUT, or make a membership contribution to KBUT, or
- Provide all of the necessary information (name, address, valid email address, phone no. where we can reach you during the day on a plain sheet of paper, and mail your entry to Contest Entry, PO Box 308, Crested Butte, CO 81124. Please also reference the contest you wish to enter.
c. KBUT is not responsible for a submission that is lost, undelivered or misdirected, or for entries not received due to difficulty accessing the Internet, service outages or delays, computer difficulties, acts of god, nature or other technological glitches.
2. Eligibility Restrictions
Each contest is open to adults (18 years or older). Employees and board members of KBUT, its contest sponsors, volunteer staff members managing the contest, and the members of their households are ineligible to participate in the contest or win. One entry per person.
3. The Prize
a. All costs and expenses not specifically listed in the prize description are the responsibility of the winner. No cash or other substitution, assignment or transfer of any prize permitted, except by Sponsor.
d. The Station reserves the right to make changes to the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement. If due to circumstances beyond the control of the Station, any prize-related event is delayed, rescheduled, postponed or canceled, the Station reserves the right, but not the obligation, to cancel or modify the contest and shall not be required to award a substitute prize.
e. Winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes. Winner is responsible for all fees and expenses associated with the acceptance, use and/or misuse of the prize not expressly included in the prize description. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
f. The prize may be delivered or may be picked up upon the winner’s provision of certification of eligibility and an executed prize receipt and publicity release.
4. Selection of Winner
a. Decisions of station management with respect to the contest are final.
b. For each contest, one prize winner will be chosen from all eligible entries at random on the date and time specified in the contest details. The first selected eligible contestant will be announced as the Prize winner on the air on the date specified in the contest details. The Prize winner will be notified by phone and/or email, and must be available to claim the prize within 48 hours. If the first winner does not claim the prize, then the a new winner be chosen from all eligible entries at random and will be notified and given 48 hours to claim the prize, and so forth until the prize has been claimed.
c. Winner need not listen or be present to win. KBUT will contact the winner.
5. Conditions
a. Payment of all federal, state and local taxes is the sole responsibility of the winner.
b. By participating in the contest, the winner agrees to have his or her name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and to sign a publicity release prior to acceptance of the prize. The winner must also sign a prize receipt and certify compliance with all eligibility requirements prior to release of the prize.
c. KBUT, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person for tampering with the entry process or with the operation of the KBUT or contest affiliated Web Site or who is otherwise in violation of the rules.
d. Additional expenses associated with the fulfillment of contest prizes are the responsibility of the prize winner and not the responsibility of KBUT or the Contest Sponsor.
6. Right to Make Changes
KBUT reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest. There is no substitution, transfer, assignment, or cash equivalent for prizes.
7. No Purchase Required
No purchase or donation is necessary.
8. Responsibilities
KBUT is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize, or cancellation of the performance.
